Intensive Irish
Stream (Diansraith)

Focused on improving your exam results and reducing your exam stress levels

The Diansraith/Intensive Irish Stream is a course designed to focus on the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate exams. All of our classes have a level of exam focus in that the syllabus is designed around topics studied in preparation for exams. There is an emphasis on oral and aural learning and development or enrichment of vocabulary. The ‘Diansraith’ / Intensive Irish Stream challenges students learning further. It is designed to leave students brimming with confidence for the Irish exams.

Having spent 30 years running our Summer Courses, in response to the needs of our customers, we offer the opportunity to attend a Intensive Irish Stream (Diansraith) which has been designed to cater for the needs of all exam students.

What is
the Diansraith?

What is the Diansraith?

This class is designed to cater for the specific needs of Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate students. Experienced Teachers informally assess the standard and exam readiness of students at the outset of the course. Students can ask specific questions, have an input into content and can focus on areas where difficulty is encountered.

Teachers use exam focused materials and their experience to assist the students in an intensive focused learning environment. There is an element of ‘peer-to- peer’ learning with oral and aural practice sessions together with study tips and exam techniques from experienced teachers and examiners. Our course content is frequently updated in line with examination and results trends.

Our teachers include native speakers from various dialects, experienced examiners, and people with varied interests. The availability of teachers of this standard allows us to cater for and connect with students quickly and offer our customers a quality course.Students of all levels will be catered for on the Diansraith.

It is important that students are prepared for the focused nature of the Diansraith where their classroom time will be maximised with specific goals.

Immersed in the
Irish language

Immersed in the Irish language

The integration of the Diansraith as another class within a course achieves the ideal balance between intensive classroom work and energising adventure activities. When not in the classroom as with all of our classes the emphasis is on the spoken word allowing additional development and further ensuring exam readiness.

Students will be immersed in the Irish language throughout their stay at Coláiste UISCE. They will converse in Irish on the water, in outdoor activities, in the classroom, at Ceilí’s and during all other activities. Our aim is to make the language more natural for students and create an environment to use the Irish that they have learned both here and at school.
