UISCE is located in the heart of the Mayo Gaeltacht and was initially established to teach the Irish language through the medium of water sports. There remains a strong affinity to the Irish language in this centre, Irish is the primary language of communication amongst employees and most of our business depends on it. It is our aim to maintain this affiliation and further progress it in whatever way possible.

CÚRSAÍ GAEILGE I gCOLÁISTE UISCE - Irish Courses at Coláiste UISCE

Tá UISCE go hiomlán faoi chúram an Roinn Oideachais agus tagann cigire go rialta chun measúnú a dhéanamh ar chúrsaí Gaeilge sa choláiste. Tá córas docht daingean smachta i bhfeidhm ar mhaithe na scoláirí chun chinntiú go ndéanann chuile dhalta a d(h)ícheall Gaeilge a labhairt i gcónaí.

All Irish language courses at UISCE are approved by the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. During these courses Department inspectors visit and assess the Irish courses in the college. There is a strict disciplinary procedure in place to ensure that each student does their utmost to speak Irish at all times and adhere to Riail na Gaeilge.
